'If Adani sends money, I'll keep quiet' says Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury
Currently, a discussion about the Uniform Civil Code is taking place throughout the country. Politics has also heated up since Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement on the issue.
The BJP is openly talking about the introduction of UCC in the country with full emphasis while the opposition parties are also expressing their opinion in their own style. Meanwhile, Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati said her party is not against the bill.
Former UP CM and BSP supremo Mayawati supported UCC with this statement. However, along with this, she also gave some advice to the BJP.
Mayawati said that our party is not against UCC but they (central government) should think that our country is one of all religions so here we have to take everyone along. She says that the country will be united with the UCC, but it should not be imposed by force but with the consent of all. It is not right to politicize this matter.
On the other hand, Congress also stands firm on the UCC and says that its implementation in this situation is in no way desirable. If any proposal, bill, or report on this issue is presented by the government, then they will comment on it.
